Safety Manager - Trucking Company Our trucking company is looking for a Safety Manager to oversee fleet safety, ensure compliance with

DOT/FMCSA

regulations, and reduce operational risk.

Responsibilities:

Ensure company compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, and federal regulations Maintain and update Driver Qualification Files (CDL verification, medical certificates, driving history, violations) Monitor and improve CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores Manage drug & alcohol testing programs (random, pre-employment, and post-accident testing) Investigate accidents and incidents: gather documentation, photos, statements, and prepare reports Coordinate with insurance companies on claims Develop and deliver driver safety training programs (defensive driving, Hours of Service/HOS) Ensure compliance with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) regulations and driver hours tracking Prepare for and manage audits and inspections (roadside inspections, DOT audits) Maintain accident and incident reporting (accident reports, OSHA logs) Track expiration dates for licenses, medical certificates, and fleet insurance Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to minimize risk in route planning

Office Work:

Daily computer-based work: maintaining driver databases, documentation, and email correspondence Working with TMS and ELD software platforms, Excel/Google Sheets Phone and online communication with drivers, insurance agents, and DOT representatives Preparing reports and presentations for management Organizing and maintaining physical and digital records Occasional site visits (yards, warehouses) for inspections or driver briefings — mostly office-based role

Requirements:

1-2+ years of experience in transportation/logistics safety (preferred) Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of documentation Proficient in MS Office and TMS systems Strong communication skills and sense of responsibility
