  • $ 80 K, based on experience Leadership opportunity overseeing quality assurance, quality control, and food safety activities Job Description An established production operation is seeking a Quality & Food Safety Supervisor to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
This position leads daily quality assurance/control and food safety activities, including inspections, testing, audits, documentation, and corrective actions. You will supervise and develop the quality and food safety team while maintaining programs such as HACCP and cGMPs and supporting compliance with applicable regulatory and certification standards. This role also partners across departments to resolve non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities :
Supervise daily quality assurance/control and food safety activities, including inspections, product testing, process-control verification, team scheduling, and coverage across shifts Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulations, company policies, HACCP, cGMPs , and food safety and quality management system requirements Conduct and support internal and external audits while maintaining compliance with applicable standards and certification programs, including GFSI-recognized schemes Investigate non-conforming products and processes, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure CCPs and/or oPRPs are properly monitored and documented Lead and train quality and food safety team members while supporting supplier quality, maintaining compliance documentation, and partnering with other departments on continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Food Science , Microbiology, Quality Management, or a related field; equivalent food manufacturing or quality assurance experience may be considered 3-5 years of food safety and quality assurance experience within a food production or food packaging environment 1-2 years of supervisory or lead experience In-depth understanding of applicable food safety regulations and standards, including FDA, USDA, FSMA, GMP, and HACCP Familiarity with GFSI-recognized schemes such as BRC, SQF, and
FSSC 22000 HACCP, SQF
Practitioner, or other food safety certification preferred Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems, including FSMS and QMS Proficiency with quality and food safety software and tools Must wear required PPE and be comfortable working around moving machinery Ability to alternate between standing and sitting frequently, perform moderate climbing, and lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening , including drug test and background checks
