F. Fischer, Inc., a general / mechanical contractor doing business in Baltimore and surrounding area since 1973, is seeking a safety professional to join our team. The Safety Director is responsible for managing the company's health and safety programs to ensure the highest degree of safety for our employees, customers, subcontractors and the public. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conducts documented jobsite inspections to identify and eliminate hazards and ensure compliance with company and customer policies and procedures.
• Conducts semi-annual inspections of safety equipment (e.g. fall protection, ladders, etc.)
• Leads and participates in safety activities, meetings, inspections and audits.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes.
• Conducts safety and health training as required, including providing weekly toolbox talks.
• Conducts new employee safety orientation and follow-up safety monitoring.
• Ensures employees have adequate supplies of safety equipment and required PPE.
• Manages incident investigations, corrective actions and workers' comp claims.
• Manages substance abuse policy, both DOT and non-DOT regulated.
• Conducts trend analyses of incidents and inspections to reduce risk of injuries.
• Conducts annual review and updates the health & safety program.
• Provides pre-qualification and pre-construction health & safety documentation upon request.
• Maintains

OSHA/MOSH

record keeping and reporting.

• Performs other duties as required by management.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• OSHA 30-hour Construction training required
• OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer Certification preferred
• CHST, OHST, COSS, or other recognized safety credentials preferred
• Minimum 3 years of overall safety management experience
• Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficient knowledge of Federal and state health & safety regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
