In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to ensure that our contract manufacturing customers' brands meet rigorous safety protocols and quality benchmarks. Your proactive approach will safeguard consumer health, uphold brand integrity, and support our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality food products. Responsibilities Maintain, improve, and execute the company's SQF-certified food safety and quality system.
Includes but not limited to:
a) Allergen program, b) Supplier approval program, c) Environmental monitoring program, d) Traceability and mock recall, e) Label and claims compliance, f) Corrective action and root cause analysis Manage Quality Technicians on all shifts Manage Sanitation personnel and function, set expectations for standards of cleanliness for equipment and work areas. Ensure that all SSOP procedures and documentation are executed as directed. Ensure finished products leaving the facility meet Baking Company quality standards and evaluate processes and procedures for setting standards. Strictly enforce product hold and release process when appropriate. Manage internal audit program, both periodic and annual requirements. Act as primary auditee for all third party audits (certification organizations, governmental, and customers). Serve as the company SQF Practitioner and as the company's Trained PCQI. Ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory standards. Develop and maintain all training and training records as pertains to sanitation, food safety and quality requirements. Analyze and resolve customer complaints regarding quality issues and assist workers in solving quality issues. Serve as the company's HACCP Coordinator; develop, implement, maintain HACCP Plans, and oversee validation and verification processes.
Lead committees:
a) Safety Committee (Committee Chair), b) Food Safety and Defense Committee (Committee Chair), c) HACCP Team (HACCP Coordinator), d) Crisis and Natural Disaster Management (Committee Chair) Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree in food science or similar field, or 6 or more years related experience. Previous Experience with safe food handling and quality assurance in a GFSI-certified food processing environment. HACCP Certification from an accredited training program, PCQI a plus Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Must have the ability to calculate and understand basic statistics. Ability to write business correspondence and quality systems documentation. Must possess strong technical skills in quality control and food safety.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
