Position Overview The Quality & Food Safety Manager will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQF certification programs across Advenshure's new cold storage warehouse in Albert Lea and the Conger Meat Market USDA meat processing facility and any additional facilities added in the future. This role will also oversee USDA and FDA compliance at these sites as well as provide quality and regulatory oversight for several additional remote facilities (non-SQF). As the company's SQF Practitioner, this individual will establish systems to achieve and maintain certification, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and champion a culture of food safety and quality across the organization. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic planning and day-to-day program execution. Scope of Responsibilities Lead the implementation of the SQF program at both the cold storage warehouse and Conger Meat Market. Serve as the designated SQF Practitioner for both sites. Develop, document, and maintain food safety and quality systems to achieve and sustain certification. Prepare sites for certification audits, customer audits, and annual recertification. Partner closely with in-house USDA inspection staff to ensure daily compliance at Conger Meat Market. Oversee compliance with USDA and FDA regulations across cold storage, Conger plant, and other designated facilities. Ensure all facilities maintain required HACCP plans, food safety documentation, and regulatory filings. Implement and maintain HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen control, recall readiness, and other critical food safety programs. Lead internal audits and corrective action programs. Develop training for plant staff and managers to build a culture of food safety and accountability. Monitor KPIs for food safety performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all food safety, compliance, and audit programs, ensuring traceability and regulatory readiness. Manage supplier verification and approval programs, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Review incoming raw materials and documentation (COAs, affidavits, certifications) for compliance with specifications. Develop and deliver recurring training programs for employees at all levels, from frontline staff to leadership, reinforcing food safety culture and regulatory awareness. Lead recall readiness programs including annual mock recalls, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions to ensure rapid, effective response. Track and report food safety and quality KPIs to leadership, benchmark performance against industry standards, and drive corrective action and continuous improvement. Work with Operations, Distribution, HR, and Supply Chain to align safety and quality programs with business goals. Support customer quality requirements and inquiries related to food safety certifications. Serve as subject matter expert in quality and regulatory matters for leadership.Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field (preferred).Experience:
Minimum 5 years in food manufacturing QA/food safety, with at least 2 years in SQF program development or management.Certification:
SQF Practitioner certification (preferred) HACCP certification required PCQI certification a plus Strong knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations, HACCP systems, GMPs, and GFSI standards. Proven track record of preparing and leading facilities through regulatory and customer audits. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills; able to influence without direct reports. Ability to travel periodically to Conger and remote locations.Pay:
