Safety Superintendent Safety Superintendent Location:
Raleigh or Wilmington, NC Salary:
$120K-$190K (salary depends on experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Safety Superintendent to lead site safety across construction projects with a particular emphasis on electrical safety and regulatory compliance. The Safety Superintendent will partner with project teams and Safety Managers to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, perform risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety on sites including commercial, retail, hospitality, multifamily, and missioncritical environments. This role requires handson construction safety experience and strong knowledge of electrical work to ensure safe execution of groundup, renovation, tenant improvement, and designbuild projects. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce site safety plans and procedures tailored to each project scope (ground up, tenant improvements, renovation, new construction, designbuild). Serve as the onsite safety lead and primary liaison with the Safety Manager, project managers, subcontractors, and client representatives to coordinate safety activities and expectations. Conduct daily and weekly site inspections and safety audits; identify hazards, document findings, and track corrective actions to closure. Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and permit-required tasks focused on high-risk activities, with special emphasis on electrical safety and energized work controls. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and timely reporting; implement corrective actions and lessons learned to prevent recurrence. Deliver toolbox talks, safety orientations, and targeted training (including electrical safety, fall protection, lockout/tagout) for craft and supervision; maintain training records. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience, with demonstrated time as a Safety Superintendent or Safety Manager on commercial or multi-trade projects Data Center or Mission Critical experience Proven electrical knowledge or experience supporting electrical construction crews, including competency in electrical safety practices and review of electrical work plans. Strong familiarity with OSHA regulations and standards; OSHA 30Hour Construction certification required, OSHA certifications (e.g., OSHA 510/500 or similar) strongly preferred. Experience across a range of project types including retail, renovation, tenant improvement, new construction, hotel/hospitality, multifamily, ground up, and mission-critical facilities is highly desirable. Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or Construction Health and Safety Technician are a plus. C andidates who fill out skills and questions move to the front of the application process!
