Easterseals NH is happy to announce a new role for Safety and Operations Supervisor! This role is responsible for overseeing the daily safety, training, performance, and operational effectiveness of transportation employees.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in transportation, public administration, business, or related field preferred Two (2) years of supervisory experience Prior experience with DOT, FTA, FMCSA, BAAS, Medicaid requirements preferred Experience with incident reporting and risk management preferred Familiarity with school bus and community transportation training requirements preferred Ability to obtain and maintain required endorsements or certifications for bus operation Experience in transportation operations, safety, or compliance Working knowledge of ADA requirements as they relate to transportation services Strong administrative, organizational, documentation, communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills Valid New Hampshire driver's license with acceptable driving record
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervise all Drivers and ensure that they receive regular feedback on performance and receive annual written evaluations on time. Serve as a primary point of coordination by effectively leading communication with management, dispatch, scheduling, assigned team members, and external customers, including consumers. Maintain certification as a school bus trainer and lead the planning, delivery, and documentation of required training programs to ensure driver competence, regulatory compliance, and safe transportation. Serve as an active member of the Agency Safety Committee, contributing expertise in transportation operations and making recommendations to enhance transportation safety standards, policies, and procedures. Supervise scheduling functions with the direction of the Operations Manager and coordinate daily transportation schedules to ensure adequate coverage, route efficiency, and safe, timely service delivery. Provide coaching related to safety, customer service, compliance, and defensive driving. Address operational concerns raised by schools, parents, and community partners in a professional and timely manner. Provide transportation oversight and support for older adults, children, and individuals with all abilities, utilizing sensitivity, patience, and best practices for inclusive service delivery. Provide driving or monitor relief during short staffing emergencies. Participate in cross training to support continuity of operations and perform other related duties as assigned. Report to the Operations Manager and partner closely with the Compliance Supervisor to coordinate operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Transportation Department. Work on Easter Seals committees and work groups representing transportation as assigned by Director or Operations Manager.
Compensation:
$66,700
Hours:
Monday-Friday with scheduling alternating form week to week. Applicants must have flexibility to work between 5:30am - 2pm one week and 9am - 5:30pm the next. What's in it for you?
