A Site Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all construction safety matters, legislative and regulatory, occupational and environmental, relating to a specific construction site. Will provide specialist advice to the management and employees of the organization. May organize training to improve employee understanding of best site safety practice.
In person / field-based Compensatio n: $100,000-$220,000 per year, based on credential, experience, assignment, schedule, and project needs About the Role We are hiring qualified NYC DOB Site Safety Managers and Site Safety Coordinators to support active construction projects across New York City. This role is responsible for overseeing site safety, maintaining required documentation, supporting DOB compliance, coordinating with project teams, and helping ensure that assigned jobsites remain safe, organized, and compliant. Applicants must hold an active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator credential. Candidates without the required DOB credential cannot be considered. Responsibilities Serve as the designated Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator on assigned NYC construction sites, as required by project scope and DOB requirements Implement, enforce, and maintain site-specific safety requirements and safety procedures Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and reports Maintain and update the DOB Site Safety Log and other required documentation Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, project managers, and field teams on safety-related issues Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations Communicate with NYC DOB and other agencies during inspections and site visits Review worker training, certifications, and site safety documentation as assigned Identify hazards, document deficiencies, and support corrective action plans Help maintain a safe, organized, and compliance-ready jobsite Requirements Active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator credential required Valid SST card required Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards Knowledge of NYC DOB construction safety requirements, including Chapter 33 Knowledge of applicable FDNY Fire Code requirements Experience with safety inspections, incident investigations, hazard identification, and safety documentation Ability to work independently and manage priorities in the field Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site safety documentation Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills Schedule Monday to Friday Weekends as needed based on project needs Expected schedule: 40-60 hours per week, depending on assignment Must be able to travel to assigned sites throughout the five boroughs Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $160,000-$220,000 per year Company-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees 401(k) with company match Paid vacation Paid sick time Paid federal holidays Life insurance AD&D insurance Parental leave Professional development assistance End-of-year bonus eligibility Site closure compensation, where applicable Monthly safety/compliance bonus eligibility, subject to company program terms DOB/SWO support resources, where applicable Why Join Us This is an opportunity to work with an experienced safety team supporting construction projects throughout New York City.
