Job Description

Job Overview On-Call Fire and Life Safety Director (FSD/FLSD) Guardian is seeking qualified and dependable Fire and Life Safety Directors to provide on-call coverage at properties throughout New York City. This position is ideal for experienced professionals who can accept assignments on short notice, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs. Schedule This is an on-call position with no guaranteed number of weekly hours. Assignments will be offered based on client needs, employee availability, and required certifications. Candidates must communicate their availability accurately and respond promptly when offered an assignment. Required Qualifications Valid F-89, T-89, or Z-89 Certificate of Fitness Current New York State Security Guard registration Previous FSD or FLSD experience preferred Ability to travel to assigned locations throughout New York City Ability to accept some assignments on short notice Strong communication and observation skills Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies Ability to complete logs and incident reports accurately Dependable, punctual, and properly groomed Responsibilities Provide temporary or emergency

coverage at assigned properties Monitor fire-alarm and life-safety systems Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents Conduct required inspections and patrols Maintain accurate fire-safety logs and incident reports Assist with emergency procedures and building evacuations Communicate with building management, security personnel, tenants, and emergency responders Follow site-specific post orders and safety procedures Perform other security and life-safety duties as assigned Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, patrol assigned areas, use stairs when necessary, and respond promptly during emergency situations. Employment Requirements Employment is subject to verification of all licenses and certifications, completion of required hiring documents, a background check, and any additional requirements established for the assigned property.
