High / Frequent (Required) About the Role Trades Holding is seeking a proactive Safety & DOT Compliance Manager to lead our safety department. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role focused on building a strong safety culture through relationships and coaching—not just enforcement.
Important Requirement:
This role requires frequent, regular travel across multi-state territories to conduct in-person coaching, support field operations, and build rapport with drivers. Candidates unwilling or unable to travel regularly should not apply.
Key Responsibilities Safety Coaching & Culture:
Build trusted relationships with drivers through 1-on-1 coaching, safety meetings, and routine face-to-face field visits.
DOT Compliance & DQ Files:
Audit Driver Qualification (DQ) files, MVRs, HOS/ELD logs, and act as the main point of contact for Fleetworthy .
Fleet Telematics:
Monitor driver performance metrics (speeding, harsh braking, distracted driving) using Samsara to reduce risk and investigate incidents.
Vehicle & Asset Management:
Maintain vehicle records and DVIRs in Fleetio ; ensure proper decals, permits, and routine maintenance compliance.
Multi-State Titling & Registration:
Manage fleet-wide titling, plate renewals, and registrations with state DMVs.
Claims Management:
Handle vehicle insurance claims from initial report through resolution. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in DOT compliance, fleet safety, or transportation. Strong working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations . Hands-on experience with Samsara, Fleetworthy, and Fleetio (or similar telematics/fleet tools). Proven experience managing multi-state vehicle titling and registration . Coaching mindset with strong communication skills and a driver-first approach. Must be willing/able to travel frequently across company locations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. High school diploma/GED required (Degree preferred).
