Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving RRBC/SE's safety programs, training, and regulatory compliance efforts. This role ensures proper training and compliance with OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, company policies, and industry best practices across field and operational activities. The ideal candidate is an experienced safety professional who can manage workplace safety programs, manage OSHA audits, administer workers' compensation claims, investigate incidents, and deliver practical safety training to employees and supervisors. Qualifications Required
- Minimum of 5 years of safety, training and compliance experience
- Hands-on experience managing workers' compensation claims from incident reporting through claim resolution
- Demonstrate experience with OSHA compliance, audits, inspections, and corrective actions
- Strong knowledge of federal and state OSHA requirements
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root-cause analyses
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems Preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar designation
- Experience in environmental services, biohazard remediation, construction, cleanup, restoration, or industrial operations

- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Lead weekly company-wide safety meetings, have oversight on safety committees
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
- Monitor compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards
- Maintain safety documentation, logs, records, and reporting systems
- Track corrective actions and verify completion OSHA Compliance & Auditing
- Lead OSHA compliance efforts across company operations
- Conduct internal OSHA audits and compliance reviews
- Prepare for and manage OSHA inspections
- Respond to regulatory inquiries and inspection findings

- Coordinate with insurance carriers, adjusters, healthcare providers, and legal counsel as needed

- Investigate injuries, near misses, vehicle accidents, and other workplace incidents
- Perform root-cause analyses and develop corrective actions
- Analyze incident trends and recommend risk-reduction strategies
- Support continuous improvement of safety performance across operations Bloodborne Pathogens & Biohazard Safety
- Maintain and annually update the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
- Track Hepatitis B vaccinations, declinations, and post-exposure follow-up
- Oversee sharps handling, containment, and disposal procedures
- Ensure proper decontamination and biohazard handling practices in the field DOT & Hazardous Materials Transport
- Ensure compliance with DOT hazardous materials regulations for transporting regulated medical waste and sharps
- Deliver and track required DOT hazmat training for employees Fleet & Driver Safety
- Develop and maintain driver safety programs and policies
- Review Samsara telematics and camera events and coach drivers on unsafe behaviors
- Enforce seatbelt use and Samsara Driver app training compliance PPE & Respiratory Protection
- Administer the Respiratory Protection Program, including medical clearances
- Select and verify appropriate PPE for trauma scene, encampment cleanup, and remediation work
- Train employees on proper PPE use, care, and limitations Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Coordinate with the Oregon State Fire Marshal and local fire authorities on fire and propane safety requirements
- Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans for company facilities

- Prepare safety plans, compliance documentation, and safety program summaries for public-sector proposals
