Job Description

FIRE ALARM DIVISION MANAGER
Location:
El Paso, TX
OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Fire Alarm Division Manager to run and grow our El Paso fire alarm business. This is a full business unit leadership role. You own revenue, margin, technical quality, and the team. The person in this seat sets the direction for the division, wins and keeps customers, keeps the work code-compliant and profitable, and builds a bench of technicians who want to stay. You will have real autonomy, direct visibility to executive leadership, and quarterly incentives tied to what you grow.
DIVISION LEADERSHIP AND GROWTH
  • Own all operational, financial, and strategic aspects of the fire alarm division
  • Develop and execute growth plans for both the team and the customer base
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and retain technical and administrative staff
  • Set performance standards and conduct regular evaluations
  • Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS
  • Drive new business and support estimating and proposal efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, building owners, and facility teams
  • Resolve customer and invoicing issues directly and quickly
  • Collaborate with business development to expand market presence
TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL OVERSIGHT
  • Provide senior technical leadership across fire alarm platforms
  • Review construction drawings, submittals, riser diagrams, and specifications for accuracy and code compliance
  • Participate in bid reviews and consult on system design and device layout
  • Coordinate permitting and AHJ approvals, and carry projects through acceptance testing and commissioning
  • Support technicians on high-level troubleshooting and system guidance
  • Oversee scheduling, service response, and project execution
  • Ensure compliance with
NFPA 72, NFPA 70
(NEC), IBC, IFC, and all applicable local codes
  • Maintain strong safety and regulatory performance
FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT
  • Develop and manage divisional budgets and financial targets
  • Monitor project profitability, cost controls, and change order discipline
  • Oversee contract management, billing accuracy, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with warehouse and fleet on equipment and logistics
  • Achieve or exceed annual revenue and profit goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years in fire alarm or low voltage systems, with demonstrated fire alarm depth
  • 4+ years in fire alarm design, estimating, project development, or project management
  • Proven experience leading technical teams
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, and IFC, and of local permitting and AHJ processes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and contracts
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSING
  • NICET Level III or IV, Fire Alarm Systems, required
  • Texas Fire Alarm Planning Superintendent (APS) license required, or eligibility to obtain it within 90 days of hire
  • Edwards / EST certifications preferred
  • Familiarity with Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, Fire-Lite, or comparable panel lines TOOLS
  • AutoCAD and AlarmCAD or comparable fire alarm design software
  • Bluebeam Revu for drawing review and takeoff
  • Procore, MS Project, or comparable scheduling and project management platforms
  • Microsoft Office
COMPENSATION
Competitive base salary plus quarterly performance incentives tied to revenue growth, margin, new customer acquisition, technician utilization, safety performance, and completion of strategic growth initiatives. [Insert base range.] Relocation assistance available.
