We are looking for a reliable, sharp, and hands-on Safety & Compliance Supervisor to join our team. This isn't a corporate desk-only job; we need someone who understands the rules of the road, knows their way around a truck, and can actively manage our electronic logging and safety systems. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in DOT and FMCSA regulations, is a power-user of Samsara , and possesses enough mechanical intuition to communicate effectively with drivers and shops about equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

Monitor and maintain daily driver logs (HOS) via Samsara , managing unassigned driving time and correcting violations.

Driver Coaching:

Review Samsara safety events (speeding, harsh braking, camera alerts) and conduct direct, respectful coaching with drivers to improve safety scores.

DOT & FMCSA

Compliance:

Ensure the fleet stays fully compliant with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Maintain accurate driver qualification (DQ) files and drug/alcohol testing programs.

Hands-on Fleet Safety:

Assist with basic mechanical assessments, pre-/post-trip inspection auditing, and coordinate with maintenance to ensure defect reports (DVIRs) are resolved quickly.

Incident Management:

Assist in investigating minor roadside incidents, compiling reports, and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in trucking safety, dispatch, or fleet compliance.

Systems:

Strong, working knowledge of Samsara (ELD, maintenance, and safety modules) is highly preferred.

Regulations:

Solid understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, and Hours of Service (HOS).

Mechanical Aptitude:

Physically comfortable inspecting equipment and possesses a good basic understanding of commercial truck mechanics/components.

Communication:

Firm but fair personality with the ability to talk effectively to drivers, dispatchers, and management.

Tech-Savvy:

Comfortable utilizing spreadsheets and fleet management software daily.

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
