An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for managing a coordinated and systematic approach to managing the environmental impact of an organization on the surrounding area. Will ensure that the organization has a systematic approach to complying with environmental regulations, such as managing waste or air emissions. Other responsibilities may include finding ways to reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Specialist / Engineer to oversee environmental, health, and safety compliance and daily management for our solar module manufacturing facility in Texas. This role is critical in ensuring our manufacturing operations fully comply with federal, state (Texas/TCEQ), and local EHS regulations. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of safety excellence, drive EHS risk mitigation programs, and manage day-to-day industrial health and environmental management operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance & Permitting Ensure facility compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, local fire codes, etc.). Oversee and maintain necessary environmental permits (e.g., Air Permits, Stormwater/SWPPP, Industrial Wastewater Discharge, Hazardous Waste Management/RCRA). Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory agencies on time. 2. Daily Safety & Occupational Health Management Conduct regular EHS audits and daily plant inspections to identify workplace hazards and enforce safe work practices. Manage industrial hygiene programs (e.g., noise monitoring, air quality, chemical handling, PPE management). Lead incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain

logs and relevant compliance documentation. 3. Environmental & Waste Management Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection, storage, labeling, and disposal protocols in accordance with regulations. Monitor energy, water, and waste metrics to support facility sustainability goals. 4. Training & Safety Culture Design, implement, and deliver mandatory EHS training programs (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Forklift Safety, Emergency Response) for new hires and existing employees. Establish and promote a proactive "Safety-First" culture across all manufacturing lines and support teams. 5. Take lead the shift safety technician team.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on EHS experience in a manufacturing facility or industrial plant environment (cleanroom, high-tech, or electronics/solar manufacturing experience is a plus).
Regulatory Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations.
Languages:
Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required. Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred (ability to conduct safety trainings and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking workforce). Certifications (Preferred): CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP, or OSHA 30-hour certification is a strong plus.
