Responsibilities:
Compliance & Audits:
Conduct daily walkthroughs and audits of processing floors, cold storage facilities, and machinery to ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, PPE requirements, and ergonomic standards.
Incident Investigation:
Lead thorough investigations for any workplace injuries, near-miss incidents, or safety hazards; determine root causes and implement corrective action plans.
Safety Training & Onboarding:
Develop and deliver engaging onboarding and ongoing safety training sessions for new hires and current staff in both English and Spanish.
Hazard Mitigation:
Identify workplace risks???such as slippery surfaces, chemical handling, heavy equipment movement, and sharp tools???and establish preventative controls.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of safety logs, OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, and safety training sign-in sheets.
Emergency Response:
Serve as a primary point of contact for plant emergency response protocols, first aid initiatives, and safety committee meetings.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Partner with Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance (QA) to maintain a secure, sanitary, and hazard-free environment.
