Mine Site / Industrial Construction Position Overview Mountain West Industrial (MWI) is seeking an experienced Industrial Safety professional to join our team supporting industrial construction and mine-site operations at the Rio Tinto copper mine in Utah . The ideal candidate will have strong industrial construction safety experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. MSHA knowledge and mine-site safety experience are a plus. Key Responsibilities Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project. Conduct daily job-site safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Ensure employees follow company, OSHA, site-specific, and applicable safety requirements. Conduct and document safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses. Assist supervisors and crews with hazard identification and corrective actions. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and assist with corrective actions. Maintain accurate safety documentation and project records. Monitor proper use of PPE, fall protection, respiratory protection, and other required safety equipment. Support site orientations and safety training for employees. Work closely with project management, supervisors, and field personnel to address safety concerns. Help ensure compliance with site-specific requirements at the Rio Tinto mine. Participate in audits, inspections, and emergency-response planning. Stop unsafe work when necessary and communicate corrective actions clearly. Qualifications Previous Safety experience in industrial construction, mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments . Strong knowledge of

MSHA/OSHA

safety standards. MSHA knowledge or experience preferred. Mine-site safety experience is a plus. Ability to recognize hazards and effectively communicate corrective actions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also working closely with field supervision and project management. Ability to maintain accurate safety records and documentation. Must be willing and able to work in an active mine/industrial environment.
