Job Description

Gifford Health Care is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Quality to lead quality, patient safety, risk management, infection prevention, credentialing, medical staff services support, and regulatory compliance across Gifford Health Care, Gifford Medical Center, and Gifford Retirement Community. Reporting to the Vice President of Nursing, Quality & Patient Safety, the Director oversees Gifford's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and ensures patient care and organizational services meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. The Director leads organization-wide quality improvement initiatives focused on improving outcomes, reducing risk, enhancing patient safety, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing quality data, overseeing required reporting, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, and presenting quality and performance results to leadership, medical staff, committees, and governing boards. The Director also leads regulatory compliance and survey readiness activities, including preparation for audits, surveys, and external reviews. The Director provides leadership for patient safety and risk management, including event reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning. In addition, this position supervises professionals responsible for infection prevention, employee health, credentialing, and medical staff services support. The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative leader who builds strong relationships across the organization and translates quality data and regulatory requirements into meaningful improvements in patient care, safety, and organizational performance. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (master's preferred), a current clinical license (RN, MD, DO, etc.), and at least five years of healthcare quality leadership experience. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, data analysis, and improvement methodologies is essential. Gifford Health Care offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
