Job Description
Columbia River Electric Maintenance, Inc. (CREM) | Kennewick, WA (Tri-Cities) | Full-Time CREM is looking for a Safety Specialist to own safety and compliance across our operations — hands-on field support paired with the administrative work that supports our safety-first culture company-wide. This role partners closely with Operations and Compliance/Admin to keep safety a daily priority at CREM. If you've got 3-5 years of safety/compliance experience and want a role where you own it end to end — policy, recordkeeping, and active jobsite support — we want to talk to you. What You'll Do Maintain CREM's safety policies, documentation, and recordkeeping systems, and support CREM's safety-first culture company-wide Manage employee training files and certifications alongside broader compliance documentation Manage compliance dashboards and safety status within client portals (Procore, Avetta, ISNet, or similar) Track and report on safety performance and compliance status to leadership Serve as CREM's on-site safety point of contact on projects that call for it — coordinating closely with Operations Build and maintain project-specific Construction Safety Management Plans (CSMPs) when required Run pre-task planning and permit-to-work programs for high-risk activities (confined space, electrical, excavation, fall hazards, hot work, lifting/rigging, and more) Complete critical risk area and planned jobsite inspections on a regular cadence Investigate incidents and near misses, run root cause analysis, and report on defined timelines Represent CREM's safety program in internal and customer audits and reviews What You Bring 3-5 years of safety/compliance experience, ideally including construction OSHA 30-Hour Certification First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Comfortable balancing administrative compliance work with active jobsite support Strong communicator — you can talk safety with a crew and write a formal report on a deadline CHST certification a plus; CSP a plus; familiarity with NFPA 70E/lockout-tagout a plus Good to Know Regular travel, including ongoing support for the westside crew based in Longview, WA, in addition to jobsites in Kennewick and Umatilla Some out-of-town travel for training Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and spend time on active construction sites, including customer-controlled or operational environments Valid driver's license and clean driving record required CREM is an equal opportunity employer.
