Position Summary The Senior Sanitation Lead functions similarly to an Assistant Supervisor and plays a critical role in overseeing sanitation operations, supporting team management, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. This role involves administrative tasks, training, SOP development, nightly cleaning, and inventory control. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team of 20+ sanitation employees, including 2+ leads Coordinate and oversee nightly sanitation processes across the facility Assign duties and train team members on PPE, SDS, GMPs, and cleaning protocols Conduct weekly safety trainings and maintain accurate records Complete and review sanitation records and documentation Write, review, and implement SOPs and sanitation procedures Support onboarding and continuous coaching of sanitation staff Collaborate with production and QA teams across shifts to ensure smooth transitions and compliance Monitor sanitation inventory and manage the chemical cage Maintain knowledge of sanitation tools and equipment Ensure sanitation tasks align with the Master Sanitation Schedule Coordinate daily sanitation tasks and ensure timely completion Perform internal audits and swabbing as needed Review sanitation reports and ensure timely corrective actions Assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective/preventive actions Promote and enforce workplace safety through observation, coaching, and leading by example Monitor equipment cleanliness and report any issues to management Oversee sanitation operations in designated production areas Function as backup to the Sanitation Supervisor during absences Qualifications Minimum 2 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment At least 2 years of leadership or lead experience Experience with GMPs, SOPs, and sanitation documentation Ability to work weekends and flexible weekdays Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred High School diploma required; technical training or college coursework preferred Ability to work under stressful conditions and in a fast-paced environment Benefits 401(k) with company matching Health, dental, and vision insurance Health savings account (HSA) & flexible spending account (FSA) Life insurance Paid time off (PTO) Parental leave Employee assistance program (EAP) Employee discount Flexible schedule Tuition reimbursement Professional development assistance Referral program Application Questions Are you available to work weekends and flexible weekdays?
