The Quality & Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is a key leadership role responsible for supporting product quality, employee safety, and environmental compliance within a corrugated box manufacturing facility. As a member of the leadership team and a primary liaison to Corporate Quality EH&S, this role supports the execution and continuous improvement of quality and EHS systems while aligning plant performance with corporate standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Quality & Continuous Improvement Partners closely with the Site Manager to balance operational priorities with corporate requirements. Collaborates with Manufacturing, Operations and Corporate EH&S teams. Supports quality activities across converting operations. Supports the sites in their execution of quality policies and procedures at the sites. Monitor and report key quality performance metrics. Support site leaders through corrective and preventive actions using root cause analysis. Support investigations of defects and customer complaints. Support customer needs related to troubleshooting or investigation of quality incidents. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Monitor and support site leaders in execution of safety and environmental policies in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory compliance. Promote a safety-first culture through visible leadership. Support safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations. Ensure proper chemical handling and waste management. Support safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Safety, or related field; or 5 years of equivalent experience in a quality or EH&S role. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (corrugated or packaging industry preferred). Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations. Experience with standardized corporate quality systems. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and basic data analysis tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with corporate and site leadership. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and ISO standards. Experience utilizing a network based Quality Management Systems (QMS) or EHS systems.
