Job Description

This is position will assist with department tasks such as monthly inspections, replacement of fire extinguishers, updating computer inventory and assisting with fire safety trainings.
Schedule:
Flexible around class schedule within business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm,
Monday-Friday Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a current 2026-2027 Federal Work Study (FWS) award to be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred prior experience with maintenance of fire extinguishers or knowledge of Fire Safety/Prevention, Florida Building and Electrical Codes. Someone who can work independently and complete job tasks assigned in a timely manner. Additional Information for
Applicants:
Please upload a cover letter, resume, 2026-2027 Federal Work Study (FWS) Award, and class schedule. Responsible for the monthly inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishers on all USF campuses to maintain compliance with fire code requirements. Replace and install missing or discharged fire extinguishers and extinguisher equipment. Assist fire extinguisher contractor with annual inspection, testing and maintenance of system extinguishers. Maintain and update computer inventory of extinguishers and input inspection data and daily activities in computer database. Assist with fire safety trainings to include setup and use of fire extinguisher pit. Assist with conducting annual fire and emergency evacuation drills on all USF campuses. Assist fire safety program with other duties as needed.
