Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vans in accordance with traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance, behavior management, and boarding procedures to ensure passenger safety and comfort Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Maintain communication with dispatchers and passengers using clear English or multilingual communication skills to respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with vehicle codes and safety standards Enforce student discipline policies when transporting school children or managing passenger behavior on transit routes Complete accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while adhering to all transportation safety regulations Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving and passenger transport Proven experience working with children or seniors in a transportation setting is highly desirable Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, state and local commercial driving laws, and school policy knowledge Certification in first aid, CPR, defensive driving, emergency stop procedures, and emergency response procedures for transportation is preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Strong behavior management skills to handle student discipline or passenger conduct effectively Demonstrated understanding of transportation safety regulations and quick response to traffic changes Join us as a CDL Driver where your dedication ensures safe journeys while providing exceptional service.
