Field Safety Representative The Field Safety Representative (FSR) serves as an on-site specialist in safety by implementing best practices and procedures within the company that effectively control accident and health exposures and minimize OSHA citations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Educating / training labor about safety measures. Assist in case management of incidents (accompany employee to urgent care.) Assist in post-incident investigations. Maintain accident reports / records. Write initial incident reports (by occurrence.) Assist in set-up of safety equipment for Hot Work, Fall Protection, & Confined Space. Perform job site inspections (reports.) Ensure company safety policies and procedures are followed. Qualifications BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred. 2 years of proven safety experience in the field (construction preferred.)
OSHA 10 & 30.
Working knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines. Proven knowledge of risk assessment. Ability to effectively work as a team member. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability. Good communication, interpersonal abilities and motivational skills. Good knowledge of MS Office Suite. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Field Safety Representative to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The FSR is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Primarily field-based, but some office-based work will be included. Typical working hours for the FSR may vary. Generally Monday - Friday during normal business hours, but when safety incidents occur, they may be required to work longer hours as assigned, including some weekend work. While in the field the FSR may be required to stay away from home for short to long periods of time. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education. While performing the duties of this job, the FSR may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites (weather, noise, etc.) Direct reports None, but the FSR interacts with General Foreman/Foreman in the field.
