Job Description
The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and facilitating environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs at our Junction City, Kansas, distribution center. In this role, you will create a strong safety culture by implementing best practices and applying your demonstrated knowledge of EHS and workers' compensation laws and regulations to translate them into actionable processes. Responsibilities Develop, build, and execute a strategy in support of Supply Chain's strategic goals to reduce injuries, accidents, and incidents by fostering a culture of safety Leverage metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern, and drive accountability through established formalized Job Safety Analyses and risk assessments Ensure compliance with all applicable Foot Locker policies by developing safety programs and providing guidance and oversight Maintain a thorough understanding of local, regional, and domestic regulations, monitoring the regulatory arena for new and changing regulations and rulemaking, including hazardous communication programs Maintain product labeling systems and Safety Data Sheet inventory Act accordingly in the event of an environmental incident or injury in the workplace with a basic understanding of OSHA guidelines, injury & illness rate, recordables, near misses, and first aid Identify proper PPE for the job and drive accountability with team members on PPE usage Understand the audit process, the importance of open reporting, and conformance Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures, bringing problems to the attention of leadership and/or HR as needed To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
