Quality and Patient Safety Specialist (RN)
Compensation Salary Range:
$139,000•$153,000 per year
Location:
Queens, NY•Onsite Position Summary As a Quality and Patient Safety Specialist (RN), you will play a critical role in advancing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across a leading hospital system. Acting as a subject matter expert for assigned departments, you will partner with clinical and operational leaders to develop, implement, and monitor programs that improve patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and overall healthcare quality. This position combines clinical expertise, data analysis, project management, and performance improvement to support the hospital's strategic goals. Responsibilities Schedule / Shift Shift details: Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•4:30 PM Hours per week: 40
Key Duties:
Partner with department leaders to implement and sustain quality and patient safety initiatives and best practices Analyze quality and patient safety data, develop reports, and make recommendations to improve outcomes and compliance Participate in adverse event investigations, patient safety debriefs, and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) Lead and support performance improvement projects utilizing methodologies such as PDSA, Lean, FMEA, or Six Sigma Assist with regulatory surveys, corrective action plans, disease-specific programs, and staff education initiatives
Requirements Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred (if applicable): Master's Degree in a related field
Licenses & Certifications Required:
Active Clinical Licensure (RN) Additional certifications (if applicable): CPHQ or CPPS preferred/required within 6 months; Six Sigma, Lean, PDCA, or Project Management training preferred
Skills:
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Experience with quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance programs Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word About Us RCM Healthcare Services works with professionals across schools, healthcare, and community-based settings nationwide.
