Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Fire Watch Guard to ensure the safety and compliance of a storage site, buildings, and facilities in. As a Fire Watch Guard, you will play a critical role in preventing fire hazards, conducting inspections, and maintaining adherence to fire safety regulations. Your proactive approach will help safeguard personnel, property, and the environment while supporting ongoing construction and maintenance activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to public safety through vigilant monitoring, thorough inspections, and effective emergency response procedures. Duties Monitor construction sites and occupied buildings for fire hazards, ensuring compliance with all relevant fire codes and regulations such as the International Fire Code (IFC) and NFPA standards. Conduct regular fire prevention inspections, including checking sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler fittings, and other life safety building components. Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection during inspections and maintenance activities. Maintain detailed records of fire watch activities, including inspection reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation. Respond swiftly to emergency situations by implementing established emergency response procedures and coordinating with local first responders when necessary. Educate construction personnel and building occupants on fire safety practices, including alarm system sales and fire prevention measures. Assist in system design reviews related to fire safety features and building code analysis to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in security operations or fire safety roles with a focus on construction inspection or building code compliance. Knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, NFPA standards, and fire prevention techniques. Familiarity with system design principles related to fire safety infrastructure. Experience supervising or leading teams in high-pressure environments is preferred. Strong understanding of life safety building codes, building code analysis, and IFC compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Ability to operate fire apparatus equipment safely when required. Excellent customer service skills combined with clear communication abilities for public safety education. Valid certifications related to Hazmat handling, firefighting operations, or construction inspection are advantageous.
