Construction Safety Field Representative (Bi-Lingual, Spanish & English)

Full-Time | Onsite Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Field Representative to provide onsite safety oversight for active construction, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities at a large life sciences manufacturing facility in Elkton, VA. This is a hands-on field role for a safety professional who can build strong relationships with contractors, coach field teams, identify and mitigate hazards, and support a proactive safety culture. The successful candidate will work closely with construction management, contractors, project teams, and site leadership to ensure work is planned and executed safely. Key Responsibilities Provide owner-side safety oversight for construction, commissioning, qualification, validation, and system turnover activities. Coach contractors, safety professionals, supervisors, and project teams on safe work practices and expectations. Review JSAs, SPAs, permits, and high-risk work plans to ensure hazards and appropriate controls are clearly identified. Conduct routine jobsite inspections and track corrective actions through closure. Lead or support incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA development, and corrective action follow-up. Monitor safety KPIs, near misses, leading indicators, and contractor safety performance. Support contractor onboarding, orientations, safety reviews, Tier meetings, peer audits, and pre-bid/pre-award activities. Support Management of Change (MOC) and safety planning associated with commissioning, qualification, startup, and transition to operations. Maintain a strong field presence and intervene or stop work when an imminent hazard is identified. Required Qualifications 5+ years of construction safety experience, including contractor oversight in active construction environments.

preferred. Fluency in Spanish required. Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable state and local construction safety requirements. Experience with incident investigations, RCA, CAPA, and corrective action closure. Strong hazard-recognition, coaching, communication, and organizational skills. Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to support basic safety data and KPI reporting. Ability to work full-time onsite in Elkton, VA. Preferred Experience Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other highly regulated construction environments. Construction-to-commissioning, qualification, startup, or operations transition experience. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience with behavior-based safety, near-miss programs, contractor scorecards, and safety recognition programs. Work Environment This is a full-time onsite position in an active construction environment. The role requires regular field presence, including walking active jobsites, climbing stairs and ladders, and interacting directly with contractors and project teams. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Authority & Measures of Success The Construction Safety Field Representative will have the authority to stop work for imminent hazards, require corrective actions, and escalate safety concerns when necessary. Success in this role will include developing strong relationships with field teams, maintaining a visible and proactive safety presence, supporting accurate KPI reporting, improving contractor safety performance, and driving corrective actions through timely closure.

Pay:

$55.00 - $65.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
