Cedar Crest Academy is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant & Health, Safety and Food Safety Coordinator to support our four campuses in Bellevue and Redmond.

•$4,400 per month 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Vision insurance Health insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday 40 hours per week On-site across Cedar Crest Academy's Bellevue and Redmond campuses, with travel between locations as needed Position Summary The Health & Safety Coordinator & Food Safety Manager is responsible for coordinating and supporting health, safety, emergency preparedness, and food safety practices across all four Cedar Crest Academy campuses in addition to assisting with administrative assistant tasks. This position serves as a primary resource for health and safety guidance and works closely with Campus Directors, administrators, and staff to ensure consistent implementation of school policies and regulatory requirements.



The Coordinator will oversee school-wide health and safety programs, identify areas for improvement, coordinate required training and inspections, maintain appropriate documentation, and ensure that food safety practices are consistently followed across all campuses.



The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple campuses and with employees at all levels. Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive health and safety program across all four campuses.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate the School's health and safety risk assessment program , ensuring risks are identified, documented, reviewed, and appropriately addressed. Coordinate the health and safety inspection program across all campuses and follow up on identified concerns. Ensure the School's accident, injury, and incident investigation and reporting procedures are consistently followed. Review accident and incident reports for trends and recommend appropriate corrective or preventative measures. Identify health and safety training needs across the School. Provide or source appropriate health and safety training for employees. Provide health and safety induction training to new employees and applicable long-term temporary/teaching staff. Complete and maintain the Health & Safety Induction Checklist for new starters and applicable long-term temporary employees and teaching staff. Prepare and submit progress reports related to the annual health and safety audit . Ensure corrective actions resulting from health and safety audits are assigned, tracked, and completed. Source additional specialist health and safety assistance when necessary. Ensure required health and safety information is appropriately displayed and accessible at each campus, including: Health & Safety Policy Health & Safety Responsibility Chart Fire and Accident Reporting Procedures Ensure each campus maintains adequate numbers of trained Fire Marshals and First Aiders at all times. Maintain the School's Health & Safety Guidance document and incorporate new procedures and requirements as directed. Liaise with appropriate departments and campus personnel to ensure hazardous substances and materials are properly identified, recorded, stored, and managed. Monitor campus compliance with health and safety procedures and communicate areas requiring attention to Campus Directors. Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, risk assessments, certifications, and corrective actions. Communicate health and safety updates, procedures, and expectations to employees as needed. Partner with Campus Directors to promote a culture in which health and safety is everyone's responsibility. Stay informed of applicable health and safety requirements and recommend updates to school practices when necessary. Food Safety Management The Food Safety Manager is responsible for coordinating and monitoring food safety practices across all four Cedar Crest Academy campuses.



Responsibilities include: Serve as the primary resource for food safety guidance and procedures across the School. Ensure food preparation, handling, storage, sanitation, and serving practices are consistent with applicable health department requirements and School policies. Coordinate and maintain the School's food safety program across all campuses. Ensure required food safety policies, procedures, permits, records, and documentation are maintained and readily accessible. Monitor employee compliance with food safety requirements, including appropriate Food Worker/Handler certifications . Identify food safety training needs and coordinate required training for applicable employees. Conduct or coordinate periodic food safety inspections at each campus. Ensure corrective actions identified through inspections or health department visits are promptly addressed and documented. Monitor proper food storage temperatures, refrigeration, sanitation, cleaning, labeling, expiration dates, and food handling practices. Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for allergen management and food-related accommodations . Coordinate response and reporting procedures for suspected foodborne illness or food safety incidents. Maintain records related to food safety inspections, employee certifications, training, corrective actions, and health department requirements. Work with Campus Directors and classroom staff to ensure food safety practices are followed during classroom activities, celebrations, special events, and school-sponsored programs. Coordinate with vendors and service providers, as appropriate, to ensure food safety expectations are met. Keep Campus Directors informed of food safety concerns, trends, and required corrective actions. Emergency Preparedness Coordinate school-wide emergency preparedness practices and ensure campus procedures are current and accessible. Support the development and implementation of emergency response procedures, including fire, earthquake, lockdown, severe weather, hazardous materials, and other emergencies. Coordinate required emergency drills and maintain appropriate documentation. Ensure emergency supplies and equipment are routinely inspected and appropriately maintained. Partner with Campus Directors to ensure staff understand their emergency responsibilities. Review emergency preparedness procedures following drills or incidents and recommend improvements. Training & Staff Development Develop and maintain an annual health, safety, and food safety training calendar. Coordinate required training and certifications across all four campuses. Provide onboarding and refresher training as appropriate. Maintain accurate training and certification records. Communicate upcoming training requirements and deadlines to Campus Directors and employees. Evaluate training needs based on incidents, inspections, audits, regulatory changes, and emerging risks. Documentation & Compliance Maintain organized, accurate, and current health, safety, emergency preparedness, and food safety records. Monitor compliance with Cedar Crest Academy policies, applicable regulatory requirements, and ISP health and safety expectations. Prepare reports and updates for the Executive Director and leadership team. Maintain a centralized system for tracking inspections, risk assessments, incidents, corrective actions, training, certifications, and audit requirements. Ensure documentation is readily available for internal and external audits or inspections. Review policies and procedures regularly and recommend updates when appropriate. Cross-Campus Collaboration As this position supports four campuses, the Coordinator will: Establish consistent health, safety, and food safety practices across all locations. Conduct regular visits to each campus to inspect, observe, train, and provide support. Partner closely with Campus Directors and administrative teams. Communicate clearly and consistently across campuses. Identify common concerns and develop school-wide solutions rather than addressing issues in isolation. Support Campus Directors in creating and maintaining safe, healthy, and well-prepared learning environments. Qualifications & Skills Experience in health and safety, school operations, facilities, compliance, food safety, or a related field. Experience coordinating programs across multiple locations preferred. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and food safety requirements. Food safety certification/manager certification as required by applicable regulations. First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain, as applicable. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to train and support employees with varying levels of experience. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to identify potential risks and take a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. Comfortable working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and support staff. Ability and willingness to travel between Cedar Crest Academy's four campuses regularly.
