Job Description
Environmental, Health & Safety Intern, Longview, Washington Ready to take what you're learning in school and put it to work? At Interfor, we're looking for future leaders who are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, build practical skills, and gain a better understanding of how environmental, health, and safety practices support our people and operations. If you enjoy asking questions, analyzing information, and helping create safer and more sustainable workplaces, this could be the summer opportunity for you! This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May. Ideally, you'll be available for a 4- to 8-month term. We offer competitive compensation for interns, including: Salaries starting from $3,700 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience). Temporary living allowance for interns moving to the area for the role. What You'll Do Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a manufacturing operation. Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities. Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation. Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending practical solutions. Collaborate with employees and leaders across the site while gaining experience in both office and industrial environments. See firsthand how EHS programs help protect people, improve processes, and support responsible operations What You Offer You are enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health. You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise. You are comfortable analyzing information and using Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL or Tableau is an asset. You communicate clearly and can organize findings into practical documentation or recommendations. You are curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions to better understand risks, requirements, and processes.
