Objective. Responsive. Trusted. We are seeking a motivated Physical Security Specialist to support the day-to-day physical security operations of classified open storage areas within an Multiple Facility Office (MFO). The position will assist in maintaining compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) under the direction of senior security personnel. This position demands a proactive and accountable security professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical, and compliance-focused setting delivering a gold-standard program.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Support OSAs, safes, access control, PALs, VARs, Comsec, and document control operations. Enforce physical security procedures in alignment with NISPOM, DCSA, Traditional Security STIGs, and internal policies. Conduct regular security checks, inspections, and audits of OSAs and storage containers. Ensure the proper receipt, accountability, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified material. Maintain operational readiness for DCSA inspections and CORAs and address corrective actions as required. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for physical security and document control. Track, manage, and report incidents, deficiencies, and status updates to security leadership. Support access control, badge systems, visitor management, guard response, and IDS, inspections. Support physical security incident response and investigation. Support guard force operations and alarm response compliance. Conduct regular walk-throughs and checks of classified areas to verify adherence to access control and physical security standards. Assist in maintaining intrusion detection systems (IDS) monitoring logs, access rosters, and visitor control procedures. Help track and organize documentation related to DCSA inspections and self-assessments. Provide logistical and administrative support for personnel clearances, security briefings, trainings, and inspections. Assist with onboarding employees, clearance processing, visit requests, access verifications. Maintain security records in accordance with NISPOM requirements. Track and support reporting requirements (foreign travel, foreign contacts, adverse information, etc.). Assist with the initiation, tracking, and maintenance of security clearance actions in DISS and other government systems. Support End of the Day Security Watch program. Support COMSEC program, inventory, records, and duties as needed. Other duties as assigned to uphold a gold standard security program.
Qualifications Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret clearance 5+ years of experience in security and managing secure facilities Familiarity with NISPOM requirements and classified material handling procedures Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow established procedures Familiar with SIMS, CCURE, DISS, and other security related systems Pay Range Information At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
