Marana Main St., Marana, Arizona, United States of America Apply Share Job Description Posted Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 5:00 AM Marana Health is seeking a Security Officer to join the Security team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Security Officer conducts public safety patrols and security checks around grounds, parking lots, and buildings of MH properties to ensure the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and the community. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.
The following qualifications are required:
High school diploma or equivalent 2 years' experience in Private Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Social Services, or a related field Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MH upon hire) First Aid certification (may be completed with MH upon hire) Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety Current Arizona driver's license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MH) The following qualifications are preferred: Valid AZ DPS Guard Card Bilingual (English/Spanish) Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job. This position has the following supervisory responsibilities: Does not direct or supervise others. The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to problem-solve while in stressful situations. Knowledge of de-escalation strategies with ability to de-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts with peaceful outcomes. Computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email protocol. Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy. Demonstrates cultural awareness and the ability to provide effective leadership, communication, and service in a diverse healthcare environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a safe and secure environment through the enforcement of security measures according to established protocols. Monitors environment for any disruptive behavior or illegal activities, reports these activities to authorities, and utilizes de-escalation procedures to maintain order and minimize conflict. Acts as a deterrent to criminal activity by providing a visible security presence, standing post, and performing regular roving patrols. Regularly patrols property grounds and parking lots to discourage trespassing and unauthorized entrance to facilities or buildings. Provides daily shift reports and documents any relevant incidences according to established incident reporting procedures. Recognizes and reports any unsafe conditions and security violations including unsecured doors and problems with buildings, such as floods, fire, or potential equipment problems. Checks emergency egress paths to ensure doors and paths are not blocked and immediately reports and responds to issues. Ensures buildings and parking lots are secure and safe prior to staff arrival and opens and secures buildings at the beginning and end of the day. Escorts staff to and from their cars as needed. Provides directions and escorts visitors, patients, and members of the community to their appropriate destinations as needed. Conducts preliminary investigations, interviews witnesses of criminal activities, and acts as the first line of communication with the police. Follows all established policies and procedures and prioritizes and emphasizes safety. Participates in in-service and education programs as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
