Essential Responsibilities All job duties are to be performed in accordance with Company Policies & Procedures, OSHA standards and other legal regulations and requirements. Essential responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned:
Protect the interests of the Casino, the safety of guests and team members by prevention, detection, and investigation of any crimes. Maintain order on Casino premises by diligently observing individuals as they enter and leave the Casino, monitoring parking lots, detailed accident investigations, and escorting guests and team members as needed. Report any suspicious financial activity observed to the Casino Shift Manager and/or Compliance Department. Conduct physical surveillance to observe and document possible suspicious activity, as requested by the Casino Shift Manager or Compliance Department. Review surveillance tapes as requested by the Casino Shift Manager and/or Compliance Department in connection with investigations of suspicious activity. Monitor and coordinate with the Casino Shift Manager or General Manager the enforcement of the Problem Gambling policies and procedures. Monitor and coordinate with the Casino Shift Manager the enforcement of all the principles of RABs (Responsible Alcohol Beverage Service) and the company's Alcohol Consumption policy. Monitor and coordinate enforcement of the age limit requirements of "21 and over" on the gaming floor and the company's ID Checking policy. Report to Casino Shift Manager or Security Supervisor any individuals in the casino who appear to be underage. Work with outside agencies when necessary, such as testifying in court, participating in criminal investigations, detaining or arresting persons physically, provide emergency first aid in appropriate situations. Work collaboratively with other departments to secure Casino premises by unlocking doors at scheduled times, transferring "collection boxes" to areas of confined space. Actively participate in safety training by making it a priority each day, takes a leadership role among peers by reporting unsafe practices or hazardous conditions to the Casino Shift Manager, Security Shift Supervisor or Casino Manager. Attend annual AML/BSA training, as scheduled. Supervisory Duties Oversee the daily security department operations on assigned shift on the days a Security Supervisor is not on shift. Direct the activities of the Security Officers to ensure goals and objectives are achieved and maintained. Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with subordinates and other casino personnel Coordinate meal periods and breaks for all departmental personnel. Coordinate departmental personnel during emergency situations and clearing personnel to return to normal duties. Coordinate and assist with compiling information for reports and ensuring reports are created and filed for all necessary incidents. Complete shift report at the end of shift. Assist with on-the-job training of Security Officers as needed/requested. Promote and enforce safety measures. Cooperate with all Federal, State, and local Law Enforcement and emergency service agencies. High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of modern Security practices and controlling laws and ordinances are preferred. Must be able to analyze and take appropriate action when necessary, and know the rules and regulations of the security department;Licensing:
Must possess a current California Driver License, Guard Card with a minimum of 24 hours of training and CPR Card.Language Skills :
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills are required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members of organization.Mathematical Skills:
Basic math skills. Ability to accurately calculate addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in an efficient manner.Reasoning Ability:
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Conditions of Employment This job has conditions of employment essential to the position that include: Must be able successfully pass a thorough background check from the City in order to obtain a Gaming License. Must be able to renew and maintain an active Gaming License according to the city's requirements. Must be able to renew and maintain an active Guard Card from the State of California according to the State's requirements.
