Job Description
The Security Manager has oversite of security personnel and implementation of the hospital's Security Management Plan. Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, manages operations efficiently and effectively to achieve service and department objectives. The Manager of Security Servicers primary objective will be maintaining a safe, secure and threat free environment. The manager shall maintain the framework for the successful implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive security program. She/He will also serve as an integral part of the Environment of Care Committee, Emergency Preparedness and Threat Management team, as directed. Develop collaborative, long-term relationships with the Glendale Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department unwavering commitment to safety and security at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. This position requires the full understanding of security and parking operations consistent with the mission of Keck Medicine of USC. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the mission and values. Supports Keck Medicine of USC strategic plan, goals and key performance indicators. This position is assigned the responsibility and as instructed by the Director of Director of Facilities & Engineering / Security / Environmental Services / Safety Officer (VHH) and the Administrative Director of Support Services (KMC) to proactively take any and all steps necessary to eliminate any unsafe conditions or threats, which could result in personal injury, loss of assets or property damage in a manner, which is consistent with the mission, and philosophy of the Keck Medicine of USC. Qualifications Req Bachelor's Degree Degree (Preferably with emphasis in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Criminology, Communication or Business Administration). Education may be substituted by 3 or more years of Leadership experience. Req 3 years Must have at least three (3) years of experience in the security, parking, emergency management or related field Req 2 years Minimum of two (2) years in supervisory or managerial level required (preferably in healthcare environment). Req 2 years Two (2) years of progressively responsible security systems experience is required. Pref Preferred field of expertise in hospital and clinical security. Pref Experience, knowledge and/or training in safety, fire protection, civil disturbance, emergency preparedness procedures and planning, C.P.R./AED, Security and Safety issues and standards as set forth by the Department of Health Services and DNV is preferred. Req Understanding of CAL-OSHA, CDPH, HIPPA, and/or DNV, Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) hospital emergency codes. Req Must have the ability to plan, organize and implement administrative and operational programs and procedures, which includes the development of budgets. Req Must have knowledge of and have experience with parking and transportation systems and its related issues or problems. Req Must have Leadership, Administrative, Planning, Organizing, Prioritizing, Interpersonal/Relations skills. Req Computer literate and use of personal computer and computer program software. Req Thorough knowledge about all security equipment and security operations. Req Attention to details, achievement orientation, positive attitude, and self-motivation skills. Req Very high internal customer focused orientation with strong customer service and service delivery orientation. Req Oral and written communications skills, including the excellent written and spoken English. Req Knowledge of Healthcare operations, management and human resources administration. Req Ability to synthesize business/financial data and develop solutions. Req Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures. Req Ability to be an effective leader and member of teams. Req Ability to be proactive, take initiative and achieve Req Driver's License (CA DMV) Valid current California driver's license is required. Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association Req California Guard Certification (BSIS) BSIS California Guard Certification Card required and must be maintained by renewal before expiration date. Req International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) (Supervisory) IAHSS-International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (Supervisory training) required within 1 year of hire Req National Incident Management System (FEMA) FEMA Certifications required for:
- FEMA-IS-100-Intro to Incident Command certification;
FEMA-IS-200-ICS
