$21.00 per hour Position Overview Excel Global Security is seeking a dependable and professional Mobile Security Officer to provide daytime security services for a shopping mall parking lot in Stamford, CT . The Mobile Security Officer will be responsible for conducting routine vehicle and foot patrols throughout the shopping mall parking lot and surrounding exterior areas. The officer will monitor the property for suspicious activity, safety hazards, unauthorized persons or vehicles, property damage, and other security concerns. The officer will also respond to alarms and incidents, assist customers and mall personnel when appropriate, and help maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, tenants, employees, vendors, and mall property . This position requires a responsible individual who can work independently, exercise good judgment, communicate professionally, and respond calmly and effectively to routine and emergency situations. Responsibilities Conduct routine vehicle patrols and foot patrols throughout the shopping mall parking lot and designated exterior areas. Maintain a visible security presence to help deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, vehicle break-ins, and other unauthorized activity. Monitor parking areas, entrances, exits, loading areas, sidewalks, and other designated exterior locations. Observe parked and moving vehicles for suspicious activity, parking violations, unsafe conditions, or signs of criminal activity. Monitor the property for unauthorized persons, loitering, trespassing, suspicious vehicles, and other unusual activity. Inspect exterior doors, gates, loading areas, and other designated access points to identify security concerns or unauthorized access. Identify and report safety hazards such as damaged lighting, blocked fire lanes, damaged signs, broken gates, debris, hazardous conditions, or other conditions that could affect public safety. Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, accidents, customer concerns, and other security-related incidents. Assist mall customers, tenants, employees, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner when security assistance is required. Observe and report suspected theft, vandalism, property damage, vehicle break-ins, unauthorized activity, and other security violations. Complete accurate daily activity reports, vehicle patrol logs, and incident reports . Document all significant incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift. Contact police, fire, EMS, mall management, supervisors, or other emergency services when appropriate. Assist with maintaining traffic flow and keeping designated fire lanes, entrances, exits, and emergency access areas clear when required. Respond to vehicle accidents or other incidents occurring within the parking lot and document observations in accordance with company procedures. Inspect assigned security equipment and patrol vehicles and immediately report any damage, malfunction, or safety concerns. Operate the assigned patrol vehicle safely and responsibly while following all traffic laws, company policies, and client requirements. Maintain the assigned patrol vehicle in a clean, safe, and professional condition. Maintain regular communication with supervisors, mall management, and other security personnel throughout the shift. Follow all company policies, post orders, emergency procedures, patrol requirements, and client instructions. Maintain a professional appearance and wear the assigned uniform properly while on duty. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet the following requirements: Valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card Valid New York State Driver's License Minimum 5 years of driving experience Clean driving record with no points Minimum 1 year of security experience High school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and detailed security reports Strong observation and interpersonal skills Ability to operate a patrol vehicle safely and responsibly Ability to conduct repeated vehicle and foot patrols throughout the shift Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a security team Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies and other high-pressure situations Preferred Skills Previous experience in mobile patrol, shopping mall security, retail security, parking lot security, loss prevention, or vehicle patrol operations is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable operating a patrol vehicle for extended periods, conducting repeated patrols of a large parking area, interacting professionally with customers and mall personnel, and responding to incidents with limited supervision.
