Security Officer Summary:
The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure club environment by monitoring facilities, grounds, access points, and security systems. Responds to emergencies, safety concerns, and incidents; assists members and guests; supports special events and traffic control; maintains required reports and logs; and communicates security matters to management. Performs duties with professionalism, discretion, and adherence to club policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be signed. Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for club members, guests, employees, vendors, and contractors. Conduct regular patrols of club buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas to identify security or safety concerns. Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, access-control systems, radios, and other security equipment; report malfunctions or concerns promptly. Control access to the club by verifying authorized members, guests, employees, vendors, and contractors in accordance with established procedures. Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, accidents, disturbances, suspicious activity, alarms, and other unusual situations. Enforce club security policies, access procedures, and safety rules in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Provide excellent customer service by assisting members and guests with directions, parking, access to facilities, and general questions. Maintain a visible security presence while demonstrating discretion and sensitivity appropriate to a private club environment. Prepare accurate and timely daily activity logs, incident reports, accident reports, and other required documentation. Communicate significant incidents, safety concerns, security issues, or unusual activity immediately to the supervisor and management. Assist with emergency procedures, evacuations, medical emergencies, severe weather events, fire alarms, and coordination with police, fire, or emergency medical personnel. Identify and report safety hazards, property damage, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and potential security risks. Support security, parking, traffic control, and crowd management during parties, private functions, special events, and high-activity periods. Safeguard confidential information relating to club members, guests, employees, incidents, investigations, and club operations. Adhere to all applicable laws, club policies, and safety procedures. Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must possess a valid Florida Class "D" Security Officer License and a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR). Must meet the Club's insurability requirements. All licenses and certifications required by Florida law and Club policy must be maintained in good standing.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
