Position:
Event Security Officer Location:
Hinterland Music Festival - St. Charles, IA Join the team responsible for providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for one of the Midwest's premier music festivals. Event Security Officers will perform a variety of security and access control duties throughout the festival grounds while maintaining a professional and customer-focused demeanor. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Conduct bag and personal property inspections at designated entry points. Search vehicles entering festival areas. Staff perimeter security positions to maintain secure boundaries and prevent unauthorized access. Operate security checkpoints for credential verification and access control. Assist with traffic control by managing vehicle flow and directing pedestrian traffic throughout the venue. Monitor and protect festival equipment, production assets, stages, and restricted backstage areas. Provide a visible security presence to deter theft, trespassing, and other prohibited activity. Report suspicious activity, security concerns, safety hazards, and policy violations to supervisors. Deliver professional customer service while enforcing festival rules and venue policies. Work collaboratively with festival staff, law enforcement, emergency services, and event management. Qualifications Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong communication and observation skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Previous security or event experience is preferred but not required. Working Conditions Outdoor environment with prolonged standing, walking, and exposure to heat, rain, dust, and other weather conditions. Shifts may include evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Duties and assignments may change based on operational needs. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of guests, performers, staff, and festival property while helping create a positive experience for everyone attending the event.
Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour
