Bi-Weekly Job Overview STS Security, Inc. is seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-service-oriented Overnight Hotel Security Officer to provide security services at hotel properties in Arlington Heights and Mundelein, IL. As an Overnight Hotel Security Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for hotel guests, employees, and visitors. This position requires someone who is highly observant, dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours. Because this is a hospitality environment, the ideal candidate must be able to balance security awareness with excellent customer service. Officers are expected to respond calmly and professionally to guest concerns, disturbances, emergencies, and other security-related situations.

Work Schedule:

Candidates must be available to work the entire schedule and travel to both hotel locations.

• Mundelein, IL 32 hours per week | Bi-Weekly Pay Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the hotel property.

Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols, including hallways, common areas, entrances, exits, stairwells, and parking areas. Monitor the property for suspicious activity, disturbances, unauthorized individuals, safety hazards, and other security concerns. Monitor CCTV cameras and designated access points as required by the assigned post. Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, guest complaints, noise disturbances, alarms, and emergency situations. Use appropriate conflict de-escalation techniques when addressing disputes or disturbances. Assist hotel management and staff with security-related situations as needed. Help ensure restricted or designated areas remain accessible only to authorized individuals. Complete accurate and detailed daily activity reports and incident reports. Immediately report suspicious activity, property damage, safety hazards, or other significant incidents to the appropriate supervisor or hotel management. Follow established emergency procedures for situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other incidents. Provide courteous and professional customer service to hotel guests, visitors, and employees. Follow all STS Security, Inc. policies, procedures, and hotel-specific post orders. Remain alert, attentive, and professional throughout the entire overnight shift. Qualifications & Requirements Active Illinois PERC Card required. 20-Hour Security Training Certificate required. High school diploma or GED required. Previous security experience is preferred. Hotel, hospitality, customer service, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus. Experience with CCTV monitoring, access control, patrol procedures, and incident report writing is preferred. Strong observational and situational-awareness skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies, conflicts, and challenging guest interactions. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with limited supervision. Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Must be able to conduct foot patrols throughout the assigned shift. Must have reliable transportation to both Arlington Heights and Mundelein locations. Must be available to work the complete Monday-Thursday overnight schedule.
