68 Hourly Position Type Part Time Education Level High School Category IL Leasing License NOT Required Quick Apply The Courtesy Patrol Office Job Summary The Courtesy Patrol Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property's common areas, monitoring entry and exit points, and responding to emergencies as outlined in the building's Emergency Plan. This role supports a positive resident experience by maintaining order, addressing safety concerns, and upholding Evergreen's policies and procedures with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities Security & Monitoring Monitor building entry and exit points; verify guest IDs and manage sign-in/sign-out logs in accordance with Courtesy Patrol procedures. Perform routine building tours and document rounds and observations in the security log. Ensure all exterior and interior doors are secure and report any security breaches or building issues to appropriate personnel. Respond to emergencies, including contacting fire, medical, or law enforcement as necessary. Notify Property Manager or on-call personnel regarding resident emergencies or maintenance concerns. Enforce house rules, building policies, and emergency protocols. Reporting & Communication Document all incidents, resident interactions, and emergency responses in the security log and submit to management as required. Report tenant concerns and non-routine activity to the Property Manager. Escalate issues beyond the scope of the Courtesy Patrol Officer to management. Resident & Guest Interaction Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with residents and guests at all times. De-escalate tense or challenging situations while upholding community policies. Provide assistance to residents when appropriate and within policy guidelines. Administrative Support Assist with light clerical tasks and documentation as assigned. Maintain familiarity with the Courtesy Patrol Handbook and adhere to all related policies. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of related experience in security, building monitoring, or customer service preferred. Other Requirements Access to reliable transportation required. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations. Basic written communication and report-writing skills. Ability to understand and follow building procedures, safety protocols, and emergency guidelines. Effective verbal communication and de-escalation skills, especially when working with residents and guests from diverse backgrounds. Skills Situational Awareness

Work Environment / Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and conduct building inspections. Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, or lift/move up to 25 pounds. May occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, cleaning chemicals, or property maintenance environments.
