Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
- Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations.
Experience:
- Proven experience in security roles or related field.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques.
- Ability to handle conflicts and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR procedures.
- Background in law enforcement, loss prevention, or military is a plus.
- Possession of a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by the company.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Strong surveillance skills with the ability to identify suspicious behavior or activities.
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and procedures.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security equipment
Duties:
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or unauthorized entry.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify potential security threats.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
- Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and granting or denying entry as appropriate.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment, such as fire extinguishers and emergency lighting, ensuring they are in proper working order.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security-related incidents or observations.
