Summary of Position Forest Security, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Lead Installer and Low voltage Security Technician to join our expanding business. Being a top provider of electronic security across the entire Chicagoland and surrounding area, we specialize in Card access, security, video, and fire monitoring systems. You will work with a quality team of associates to provide on-time installations and security maintenance to our vast commercial and residential clients. ForestSecurity.com Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, or repair security/video/fire/access systems, devices, and related equipment.
  • Program control panels, keypads and remote access applications to communicate with security system.
  • Provides reliable, high quality customer support.
  • System installations may include equipment, cabinets, boxes, wire, conduit and other materials.
  • Test, repair, and troubleshoot systems.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of various alarms. Explain the use of products or services
  • Run cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, positioning and terminating cables, wires, or strapping.
  • Have the ability to work independently and with other team members.
  • Organizes and utilizes technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.
  • Have a strong work ethic.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications 3+ years experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting commercial/residential security systems, or related field. Video Surveillance and Access Control product certification a plus. Must have a valid Driver's license and good driving record. Be able to lift at least 50lbs, work on a ladder and work in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.) Experience in all areas of installation of pre-wiring new construction, retrofit homes and offices. Understanding of installation of equipment - configure/program Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities. Have the ability to quickly and logically troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Ability to identify and terminate different types of cable used in a typical audio/video installation. Must pass certification to carry PERC card Benefits
