Job Description

As the Security Officer, you will be asked to perform a wide range of complex duties to ensure the safety and security of the hospital and its patients, employees, physicians, visitors and others, as well as the property of same. All responsibilities are performed in strict accordance with hospital and / or department policies at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides hospital-wide security duties, as outlined by, and in adherence with hospital or department policies / procedures. Maintains surveillance over hospital property and the property of employees, patients, visitors, and others. Responds immediately to all emergency and routine requests for Security assistance. Provide a high level of customer service by interacting with patients, visitors and staff professionally that is proactive, friendly and helpful Performs hospital safety rounds in accordance with, and as outlined by department policies/ procedures. Provides escort services to parking areas or remote areas of the hospital, in order to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, or others. Patrols all hospital parking areas and grounds, both on foot and by vehicle, to ensure the safety and security of these areas at all times. Ensures that pertinent information is reported to the relief person at change of shift. Prepares and submits written reports in a complete and accurate manner. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent One year experience in the field of Hospital Security, Security, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer knowledge. Within 6 months of date of hire, must complete and become certified in Workplace Violence Prevention AVADE courses Levels I, II and III.
