Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic security team as a Security Officer and become a vital part of maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding property, assets, and people through vigilant surveillance, proactive patrols, and effective incident management. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure that all security protocols are followed meticulously, creating a secure atmosphere for staff, visitors, and the community. Duties Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to monitor security risks and ensure safety protocols are upheld. Manage access control systems to authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while maintaining accurate logs of all entries and exits. Respond swiftly to security incidents by performing incident report writing, managing conflict de-escalation techniques, and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. Perform background checks on new personnel or vendors as part of the onboarding process to ensure compliance with security standards. Operate specialized security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform CPR to assist in emergency situations. Conduct thorough inspections including heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to secure premises against unauthorized access or potential threats. Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with directions or inquiries while maintaining a professional presence at all times. Requirements Proven experience in security roles or law enforcement with knowledge of physical security practices and surveillance techniques. Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and firearm handling; additional certifications such as Taser use or heavy lifting are advantageous. Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control systems, incident report writing, and emergency response procedures. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Ability to perform background checks accurately and adhere strictly to security regulations and compliance standards. Physical fitness to handle activities such as patrolling long hours, heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and performing first aid when needed. Excellent communication skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to foster a safe environment for all stakeholders.
