MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER

Shifts are from 6am-2pm, FULL TIME Watson Express Security is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a dedicated day- shift post at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This is a permanent assignment — not a float or fill-in role — at one of the highest-traffic venues in the Twin Cities. The first shift at a convention center sets the tone for the day. You'll be on site as the building opens, working alongside event staff, vendors, and the public during setup, load-in, and morning event operations. What You'll Do Staff assigned posts and conduct interior and exterior patrols of the facility Provide guest services — directions, event information, and assistance to attendees, exhibitors, and vendors Monitor access points and verify credentials for staff, vendors, and contractors Observe and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations De-escalate disputes and respond to incidents; escalate to supervision and emergency services as appropriate Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation Support event setup and load-in operations as directed by site leadership

What We're Looking For Required:

18 years of age or older High school diploma or GED Eligible for licensure as a protective agent employee in Minnesota (no felony convictions or disqualifying offenses under Minn. Stat. §326.3381) Reliable transportation and consistent attendance — this post cannot go uncovered Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an eight-hour shift Comfortable working at elevated heights — this post includes catwalks, mezzanine, and skyway-level areas Clear written and verbal communication; comfort writing daily reports

Preferred:

Prior security, hospitality, customer service, or event operations experience Experience in a high-traffic public venue Familiarity with report-writing software or guard tour systems The right fit: This is a customer-facing role in a busy public building.
