The Crowbar is hiring a dependable Doorman/Security team member for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The primary focus of this position is checking IDs, controlling entry, monitoring the room, enforcing house policies, and helping prevent or de-escalate problems before they become serious. During slower periods, this position also assists bartenders by clearing tables, collecting used glassware, removing trash, and helping keep guest areas orderly.

Schedule Thursday:

9:00 PM to 1:00

AM Friday:

9:00 PM to 2:00

AM Saturday:

9:00 PM to 2:00 AM Approximately 14 hours per week, with the possibility of additional event shifts. Pay $25/hour, plus potential tip-out from the bartender depending on the shift. Responsibilities Check IDs and verify guests meet age requirements. Learn and follow applicable North Carolina alcohol laws and The Crowbar policies. Recognize fake, altered, expired, or otherwise unacceptable identification. Control entry and re-entry during late-night events. Monitor guests for intoxication, unsafe behavior, conflicts, or other concerns. Step in early and de-escalate situations when possible. Refuse entry or assist with removing guests when necessary. Communicate with bartenders and management about problem guests or safety concerns. Keep entrances, exits, and walkways clear and safe. Assist with incident documentation when needed. During downtime, clear tables, collect used glassware, remove trash, and help keep guest areas orderly. Assist with end-of-night security and closing duties as needed. Requirements Dependable and punctual. Comfortable working late nights in a busy bar environment. Calm, observant, and able to make sound decisions under pressure. Able to deal professionally with intoxicated or confrontational individuals. Able to enforce rules firmly without unnecessarily escalating situations. Strong communication and conflict-management skills. Able to stand for extended periods and move comfortably through crowded areas. Willing to complete training on ID verification, alcohol regulations, and de-escalation procedures. Previous experience in bar security, event security, nightlife, loss prevention, or similar work is preferred but not required.
