Job Description

Hilton Garden Inn Asheville South is seeking a dependable, professional, and highly observant Security Officer to help ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, team members, and property. This is an overnight position that requires someone who can work independently, remain calm under pressure, and handle situations professionally while maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests. Key Responsibilities Property Security & Patrol Conduct routine patrols of the hotel's interior and exterior areas, including parking lots, hallways, stairwells, entrances, and service areas. Ensure doors, entrances, and restricted areas remain secure. Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property. Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or maintenance concerns. Monitor security cameras and report any equipment issues. Guest Safety & Incident Response Respond promptly to guest complaints, disturbances, alarms, and requests for assistance. Professionally address disruptive behavior, loitering, and unauthorized individuals. Use good judgment and de-escalation techniques when handling difficult situations. Contact and assist law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary. Help enforce hotel policies throughout the property. Reporting & Communication Complete accurate incident and shift reports. Document unusual activity, disturbances, and security concerns. Communicate important information to hotel management and the next shift. Maintain radio communication with hotel team members while on duty. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently. Ability to write clear and detailed incident reports. Previous security or hospitality experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certification and surveillance system experience are a plus. Schedule & Physical Requirements This is primarily an overnight position . Weekend and holiday availability is required, along with flexibility to assist with alternate shifts when needed. Candidates must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, patrol both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, respond quickly when needed, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
