Job Description
Security Officer Position Summary Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting appropriate facility personnel and/or emergency responders. Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity. Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, providing directions and assistance to patients and visitors as needed. Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and promptly using required reporting procedures.
