Job Description
Security Officer Job Summary Directs the affairs of the Safety Committee and maintains close communication with administration in the matters of safety requiring management action. Essential Functions Performs all functions of assigned shift. Performs tasks required for fire/ life safety conditions Security Liaison with hospital staff, visitors, patients, and physicians Performs security tours on Offsite locations and surrounding area Demonstrates presence/ customer service skills in high-risk situations Advises of any hazards created by adverse weather conditions Takes proper action with any adverse safety hazards identified Demonstrates de- escalation skills in confrontation situation Provide all assignments as deemed necessary by a Security observation. Maintains assigned schedule and can cover all shifts. Maintains time and attendance in accordance with hospital policy Provides Hospital Environmental, Fire Drill and Life Safety reporting as required Maintains Morgue, Patient Belongings and Valuables protocols. Conducts incident and investigative reporting protocols Maintains job training as required for Security Dept. Maintains training in any new policies, procedures, equipment, and techniques. Stays current with education for Fire/Safety / Security and Human Resources requirements . Transport blood and urine specimens from the main hospital to laboratory. Ensure that all specimens are packaged for transport using temperature-controlled container. Follow all safety protocols and regulations. Transport all laboratory specimens in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain records of sample transportation. Provide coverage for mail courier when needed. Minimum Work Experience At least 2 years experience in hospital security recommended.
