Training & Development Position Description:
The purpose of the Security Specialist position is to foster the safety of the property by handling access control by monitoring and documenting the flow of incoming and outgoing visitors, and building activities or building emergencies. The prospective candidate is also responsible for promoting a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:
Pleasant and professional demeanor: ability to graciously interact with everyone. Check ID's, log & direct all visitors/guests. Maintain access control and review cameras to ensure safety. Independently navigate, troubleshoot, and de-escalate unpredictable situations that may arise. Escalate major issues to appropriate parties and authorities.
Requirements:
High School Diploma SORA Certification Basic computer literacy skills and technology talent (i.e. handheld radios, telephones, computers, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to multitask and good time management. Weekend and evening availability. Well-groomed, professional appearance. Ability to stand or sit for the duration of the assigned shift, lift, push, and pull at least 30 lbs. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Adhere to APC location site Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Preferred Experience:
1 year of office/administrative experience. 1 year of security experience. Knowledge of security software. Who is APC?
