Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and energetic Security Officer to oversee the safety and security operations at a high-volume bar and restaurant operating around the clock. In this dynamic environment, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe atmosphere for staff and patrons, preventing theft and disturbances, and responding swiftly to emergencies. Your proactive approach, combined with your expertise in security procedures and customer service, will ensure the smooth operation of our lively venue while upholding the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Monitor all areas of the venue through in person surveillance, patrolling key zones regularly to deter misconduct and ensure safety. Control access points using access control systems, verifying identification and managing entry for staff, patrons, and vendors. Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances by de-escalating conflicts using conflict management techniques and law enforcement collaboration when necessary. Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting for equipment setup or emergency response supplies while adhering to safety protocols. Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities for future review. Enforce compliance with all security regulations, policies, and licensing requirements to maintain a safe environment for everyone present. Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify hazards or suspicious activity and take appropriate action. Skills Proven experience in surveillance techniques using CCTV systems and other security technology tools. Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures with ongoing training preferred. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while maintaining alertness during long shifts. Skilled in incident report writing with clear documentation of events and actions taken. Knowledge of access control systems and CCTV monitoring tools for effective surveillance management. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflicts calmly and professionally. Strong conflict de-escalation abilities combined with conflict management expertise to maintain a peaceful environment. Understanding of loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and unauthorized access within a high-volume setting. Ability to perform patrolling duties efficiently across different areas of the venue at all hours of operation.
