Description:
The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Full Time, Security Guard. The Glen Oaks Club is known for providing its members with an exceptional and personalized experience. For nearly 100 years the Glen Oaks Club has been evolving to maintain its stature as a home away from home for its member families.
Summary:
As part of our Security Team, you will be responsible for the comprehensive safety, security, and emergency preparedness of Glen Oaks Club. You will be responsible for ensuring the protection of members, guests, staff, and club assets by managing daily security operations such as monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling designated areas, controlling access to the club's property and responding to emergencies and collaborating with both internal and external emergency agencies. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Key Duties and Responsibilities Patrol interior and exterior areas on foot or vehicle to identify and address potential security risks Monitor surveillance equipment and alarms and investigate incidents and suspicious activities Control access to club grounds by screening visitors and conducting security checks Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies Possess the ability to prepare concise written logs of daily activities
Requirements:
Qualifications Valid NYS Security Guard License; prior experience in law enforcement, or military required. Prior experience in private clubs, luxury hospitality preferred. CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days). Strong working knowledge of surveillance and access control technology. Proven crisis management skills with a calm, professional demeanor. Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills. Ability to build trust and maintain close relationships with members, staff, and local authorities. Availability to work 8-to-12-hour shifts. Evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical ability to patrol the grounds on foot regularly and respond quickly to emergencies.
